I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#122452) in supervision with Shelby Stone, LMFT (#112223). I am dedicated to helping individuals and families mange life challenges by supporting the development of positive coping skills, self-efficacy, social support, and resiliency. Mastering interpersonal skills such as these enhance one’s ability to regulate relationships, nurture self-esteem, and cultivate identity development. Understating that each client’s situation is unique, I remain committed to meeting individuals where they are in their journey to achieve balance and healthy relationships. I find this to be especially important when working with diverse populations in order to appreciate the nuances and complexities involved in treating families who struggle to achieve healthier lifestyles.

Approach

Having worked in group, school-based, treatment, and private practice settings, I continue to provide a warm and nurturing environment by using a Humanistic, strengths-based approach. My therapy methods are based on a foundation of human behavior and family systems that address issues of trauma, culture, cycles of violence, substance use, co-occurring disorders and addiction within family systems. Placing an emphasis on developing a trusting therapeutic relationship with each client, I strive to promote a safe space for reflection and growth through my non-judgmental demeanor. I understand that clients are the experts of their own life experiences and know the benefits of partnering with individuals and families to construct meaningful individualized treatment plans. Such partnerships are essential in developing a positive and effective client-therapist collaboration.
