Child Therapy

Children often have different ways of expressing themselves which can be difficult to read. Some kids may complain of headaches or stomach aches and some may seem more irritated or anxious. Whether it’s struggling with making friends, adjusting to change, or a drop in grades, children need patience, understanding, and coping skills.

My goal is to help your child express their emotions in a safe environment. Here they learn that it’s okay to talk about problems and their feelings do not have to control them. I spend time getting to know you and your child to build a trusting relationship. With a little humor and a lot of patience, I try to create a positive and comfortable experience for you and your child.

Family support and involvement also plays a role in therapy as parents provide insight, learn how to best communicate, and practice strategies at home. I use mindfulness-based tools to help kids regulate their emotions in times of stress so they can focus on a child’s number one job: Being a kid!
