EMDR Therapy

Whatever challenges you are facing, I hope to create a safe environment to support you.

Treating unhealed wounds and “stuck places,” EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy remains one of the most researched and effective trauma-informed treatments. Another strengths-based approach, EMDR is a collaborative therapy that helps to empower individuals and promote resilience while safely working through distressing memories. Known for treating trauma, EMDR therapy also addresses other forms of emotional distress and difficult life experiences.

Consistently, studies show that EMDR Therapy can yield “the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference,” providing hope that recovery is possible.

So, how does EMDR Therapy work?

The EMDR process involves first helping you to identify the negative thoughts, feelings, and body sensations connected to past experiences. I then introduces Bilateral Stimulation (eye movements, tapping, alternating sounds, vibrations) which allows you to reprocess memories by making new and more adaptive connections in the brain. In other words, EMDR helps to unblock your brain’s natural ability to heal.

EMDR Therapy can help with:

  • Anxiety

  • Behavioral Issues

  • Depression

  • Eating Disorders

  • Emotional Distress

  • Grief and loss

  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Relationship Issues

  • Substance Abuse
